Fund-Raising Boat Cruise On 21st July 2013

Thanks to Trustee Matthias Li, a boat trip was organized to raise funds for the Foundation on Sunday, 21st July 2013. The weather had been unstable in recent days with patchy squalls. Sunday morning was dry and sunny. The event jumped to an early start at 10 a.m. with the punctual arrival of the 15 participants. The boat ‘Seahorse’ welcomed everyone on board at the Aberdeen public pier and promptly sailed towards Po Toi Island, famous for its spectacular rock formations and coastal scenery.

The sea was calm and the ride was quite pleasant. After arriving Po Toi, the party went on shore and started to walk along the island’s popular scenic trail, but soon it started to rain. At this time, looming large on the distant horizon was a speed boat, which they soon recognized to be Justin Chu’s. The party quickly doubled-back to the restaurant to meet up with Justin and Polly, with their 4 dogs. Justin and Polly regularly support the activities of the Foundation, and their presence was well appreciated.

Lunch was organized in no time and everyone soon set down to a delicious treat of fresh seafood, paired with white and red wines. After lunch, the party continued on to Stanley Beach to enjoy bathing in the calm of the bay. The occasional rain did not dampen the fun shared by all. It was a most leisurely outing for the party. The voyage ended at 4 p.m.

After yet another successful fund-raising function, the Trustees are looking forward presently to announcing the Foundation’s next event.
