Speech Day of St. John the Baptist Catholic Primary School

St. John the Baptist Catholic Primary School is one of the first schools to join the Foundation’s scholarship program. The Foundation is sponsoring each year a number of prizes to recognize students who have done well during the school year. On the morning of Friday, 11th July, 2014, Trustees Daniel Li and Andrew Li represented the Foundation to attend this year’s Speech Day as Guests of Honor.

Due to the size of the School Hall, the ceremony was divided up into two sessions on the same morning, one for P.1-3 and the other for P.4&5. The first session started at 8.30 am with the Supervisor of the School, Father Li Chi Yin, presiding. Father Li led the prayers and the singing of the school song. Principal Vu Yim Fan welcomed everyone, including the representatives of the Foundation and the president of the PTA.  Various awards were given out to students. The Foundation’s awards were to encourage students to excel. Besides a certificate of merit, each award also included a book coupon. These prizes were given out by Andrew and Daniel to deserving students. Parents present were most appreciative of the honor and encouragement given to their children.

The two sessions were both rounded up by outstanding performances by students. The English dramas were most impressive, given that this is their first attempt. The Taekwondo demonstration was also very excellent. The ceremony marked the finish of another successful year for the School.
