Visiting Chung Yung Cycle Co.

Chung Yung Cycle Co. (鎮洋兄弟單車公司) is one of the Foundation’s first corporate sponsors. Managing Director, Mr. Jason Lee is a Josephian (Class of ’77), who has been running his family bicycle business in Hong Kong successfully for over 30 years.

On the evening of 17th August 2016, Trustees Aaron Ho and Andrew Li made their way to Chung Yung’s outlet on San Fung Avenue, Sheung Shui, which is literally a stone’s throw away from the Sheung Shui MTR station. On arrival, they were warmly received by Jason and Ms Vivian Chiu.

The topic of discussion for this meeting was to see how the Foundation, in conjunction with the Josephain Association, could organize a bicycle event to raise funds for the foundation. At dinner, they were joined by Russ Ko, another Trustee and Vice Chairman of the Josephian Association and Mr. Fung Tak Choi, Gilbert, a solicitor and Josephian (Class of ’76). They shared a wonderful time together exchanging ideas. Jason and Vivian were extremely helpful, eagerly sharing their past experience in such events. Some initial ideas were agreed upon, paving the way to a more concrete proposal. Jason was kind enough to commit to sponsoring the use of bicycles and gift items.

In fact, Jason has been active in sponsoring bicycle events, working with at least three different charity organizations in recent years. Indeed, we felt sure Chung Yung would be an ideal corporate sponsor for such a fund-raising event.
