Chen, Pak Lam Sammy (陳栢林) (SJACS95)

Sammy attended St. Joseph’s Anglo-ChineseSchool from Primary 1 to Form 7 (1984-1997). During his school years, he was rewarded many scholarships for outstanding academic achievements, including three successive Brother Paul Sun Scholarships during Form 1-3. He attained nine A’s and one B in the 1995 HKCEE examinations. During Form 6, he was the first treasurer of the Student Association, and was active in various activities including the Joint School Science Exhibition, Young Christian Students’ Movement, etc. In 1997, he was enrolled in the MedicalSchool of the University of Hong Kong.

In 2003, he earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Master of Research in Medicine (MRes(Med)). He finished his internship training in June 2004 and has since worked as a resident medical officer with the Hospital Authority of Hong Kong. Other post-graduate professional qualifications include Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP(UK)), Membership of the Hong Kong College of Pathologists (MHKCPath) and two postgraduate diplomas. Since 2009, he has also taken up the role of honorary teaching staff at theUniversity of Hong Kong.

Currently Sammy is the Secretary of The Josephian Association Limited, an incorporation of the Old Boys of St. Joseph’s Anglo-Chinese School. His community service commitment includes:


  • Council Member – Hong Kong Public Hospitals, Department of Health and Universities Doctors Association
  • Trustee – Rev. Brother Paul Sun Education Foundation, an officially approved tax-deductible charitable trust
